Аннотация: The aim of this book is to enable students for whom English is a second language to improve their command of English for examination or career improvement purposes. Additional material in the second edition means that the book now provides a full course of study for students sitting all three levels of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry's English for Business and the Institute of Commercial Management's Certificate and Diploma in Business English. It will also be useful for students on numerous RSA, BTEC and secretarial courses wanting to raise their standards of English while gaining business awareness.
The book acquaints students with the business settings in which they will be expected to use English and teaches basic skills to enable them to operate effectively, viz
* comprehension and interpretation of written reports and other business documents
* simple analysis of graphically and numerically displayed information
* summarising and precis writing
* production of expanded passages from brief notes
* composition of letters, memoranda, reports and telexes, etc.
